BOSS’S DAY is Friday, October 16
There’s no time like the present to be appreciative of your boss! And now more than ever, it’s the perfect time to share a little gratitude. That’s how Boss’s Day began back in 1958 when a girl named Patricia Haroski in Illinois sent her boss a gift on the 16th of October. Did she get a raise or a promotion? No. Not at all.
Her boss was her father and the 16th was his birthday. And every year since then, Boss’s Day falls on the 16th of the month – this year on Friday.
If we can help you express your appreciation, we’re available 24/7.
SWEETEST DAY is Saturday, October 17
Sweetest Day is a time to brighten the day for anyone meaningful in your life. It began in October of 1922 when philanthropist and candy employee Herbert Kingston felt the desire to share his good fortune with others. Realizing that all people want to be appreciated, he conceived the idea of a holiday to recognize “people for just being people.” With the help of his friends, Kingston and his supporters passed out candy and small gifts all over Cleveland, Ohio – to shut-ins, the underprivileged and orphans – and people they thought could simply use a little boost. The day was a resounding success ... and today’s it’s a tradition.
